Scratch that Itch
“Ever had a bump that itched so much you wanted to get a knife and cut it out?!” God knows how these things develop! Mine only itched when I exercised, so I didn’t pay it much attention. But it seemed that my skin problem got progressively worse over time and started to itch badly and frequently! I even considered a trip to the dermatologist. I had bought some bump stopper cream about a month back for razor bumps and decided to use that although this bump was not on my face. It stopped the itching at first, but it returned soon after. Activated charcoal for skin problems to the rescue.
Soooo I’m thinking to myself…there must be a more cost-effective way to treat my symptoms, other than a visit to the dermatologist. So to the internet I went! After a day or so, I found some recommendations to treat my symptoms and was ready to try them but decided to bounce my “condition” off my parents first to see what they thought.
Activated Charcoal for skin problems : A Man of Many Secrets
My vegan Dad who for the past 15 years only uses natural remedies suggested that I use activated charcoal for skin problems. “Mix with olive oil to form a paste and then to apply to the bump” he said. I followed and used plaster and charcoal soaked cotton to cover the bump. After a few days of applying this the itching has gone away and the bump has now shrunk considerably. I’m continuing my daily treatments.
